LOS ANGELES (AP) Louie Anderson, whose more than four-decade career as a comedian and actor included his unlikely, Emmy-winning performance as mom to twin adult sons in the TV series Baskets, died Friday. He was 68.

Okay, I shouldn't be cheering. My friend's sister - who is vaxxed and boosted - is currently in the hospital on a ventilator, and probably won't make it. She's disabled and medically vulnerable. My friend thinks that she got it at the hospital when she was taken into the ER for something else. BTW, my friend also tested positive following her sister's exposure.

IIRC, Anderson had an abusive childhood and developed humor as a way to cope with it, and he always made the point that the line between despair and comedy was a thin one.
RIP.
