U.S. judge hands down 44-month sentence for Capitol rioter who assaulted police

Source: Reuters

By Jan Wolfe

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -A U.S. judge on Thursday imposed a 44-month prison sentence on a man who pleaded guilty to a felony charge after throwing objects at police during last year's attack on the U.S. Capitol and boasting about his actions on social media.

The defendant, Nicholas Languerand, has been jailed since his arrest in April in South Carolina and will receive credit for time served.

Prosecutors had recommended a 51-month sentence, but U.S. District Judge John Bates in Washington said a "modest reduction" was warranted in light of Languerand's personal circumstances, including what the judge described as a "extremely difficult and chaotic upbringing."

When Languerand was a child, his father intentionally set fire to a trailer Languerand and his mother were living in, nearly killing them, Languerand's grandfather told the judge during the sentencing hearing.

when possession of a marijuana cigarette can get you ten years but attacking the nation’s Capitol with murderous intent only gets you 44 months.

Sheer insanity.

And much more to come, there r over 700 charged, variations in sentence r inevitable different as the variations of the crimes and the character of the convicted…not all are pleasing…but this one is.

The final sentencing will be for the BigLie seditionists. That will be pure pleasure.

You can do serious harm to a person if you throw a big enough object at them. It is not much different than firing a bullet. As always, feels like the gqp get a pass on their crimes.

At any rate, rot in prison, Nicholas.

So the Judge knocks off seven months and he's already done around 10 months. That might fly when arrested for a Frat party gone bad but these FUCKS tried to overthrow our Government.

With good behavior he'll be walking the streets in Jan 2024, just watch.

For fucks sake........

The people trying to destroy our government want personal freedom. Yet, they are trying to install a government that would not allow personal freedom. How do they square this in their heads?
