Audio and video recordings from the night Paul Pelosi, the husband of Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi, was violently assaulted were released on Friday.
The public release comes after multiple news organizations, including ABC News, filed a court motion arguing the footage should be made available to the public after it was presented as evidence in court.
A San Francisco Superior Court judge ruled in favor of the outlets on Wednesday.
The materials released include body camera footage, the 911 call made by Paul Pelosi, Capitol Police surveillance video and the suspect's interview with the San Francisco Police Department.

The public release comes after multiple news organizations, including ABC News, filed a court motion arguing the footage should be made available to the public after it was presented as evidence in court. A San Francisco Superior Court judge ruled in favor of the outlets on Wednesday.
Nancy Pelosi told reporters Thursday she "respected the system" after the judge's decision to grant access. She said she hadn't watched it herself and that it would be "a very hard thing to see."
"My concern is my husband's wellbeing and we take that day to day," she said. Paul Pelosi was hospitalized for several days after the Oct. 28 attack, which authorities described as politically motivated.

(2,119 posts)Is McCarthys repeated joke about how tempted he will be to hit Nancy with the gavel.
Cowardly, despicable creature, celebrating if not inciting violence. And thats the state of political discourse today.

(20,871 posts)In court to defend himself? I dont get this ruling it definitely prejudices the jury against the defendant. Or is it right wing porn for Fox and the other propaganda channels?

(110,900 posts)because it's sensational, "see old dude get his skull bashed in." It will also be over at Rumble but I don't want to think about those posts. So yes, people will see it, but most of them won't get the political context and most of them will be kids without much empathy yet. I feel sorry for the Pelosis, no chance of retrograde amnesia protecting Paul.
I will say that open skull injuries can be less devastating than closed ones because pressure from swelling has a place to go rather than destroying brain tissue. He will most likely make a good recovery, if not a completely full one because of his age. I've cared for someone in the distant past missing half the skull who was present and conversational.

(48,773 posts)They'll go through some number of the jury pool, but they'll find jurors and it won't be too hard.

Timeline seems rushed, but what's done is done and not worth digging into further, as far as I'm concerned.
