Tens of thousands of B.C. residents received free contraception in eight months, Eby says

About 188,000 people have received free prescription contraception since British Columbia became the first province to offer them in April.
The province says in the first eight months of the program, about 123,000 people have received free pill contraceptives, while 30,000 got intrauterine devices or IUDs without cost.
About 37,000 people received emergency contraceptives through the program.
Premier David Eby made the announcement at a North Vancouver pharmacy and says 129,000 people also received prescriptions for minor ailments, such as allergies and shingles, through pharmacists since the province expanded their powers to prescribe medications on June 1.

The change to allowing pharmacists to make prescriptions for minor ailments was needed because 1/4 of the provincial populace don't have a family doctor and getting into a walk-in clinic is extremely difficult. It also frees up the doctors we do have who would need to waste an appointment slot just for a prescription refill.

They prefer control and are trying very hard to make contraceptives banned and emergency contraceptives wouldnt even be considered. Birth control is their next choice to eliminate and the idea that they would allow women to get these prescriptions free would just be too woke for them. A great idea and glad its working so well but its just too logical for them.
