Here is what we know about the Foxconn fiasco that Scott Walker and Donald Trump celebrated last week:

Fact No. 1: Foxconn was initially supposed to cost Wisconsin taxpayers the outrageous sum of $3 billion.

Fact No. 2: Foxconn is now supposed to cost Wisconsin taxpayers as much as $4.5 billion — which, if you’re keeping track, is even more outrageous.

Fact No. 3: Foxconn's first Wisconsin factory, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “likely will be smaller than planned.”



Put the pieces together and it is surprising that the sign at the Foxconn groundbreaking event last Thursday wasn’t a message from the Taiwanese corporation reading: “Thank you, suckers.”

The Foxconn deal appears to be in a state of flux.....................................

It is not just critics of Trump and Walker who are raising the alarm. The Wall Street Journal headlined its report last week with an ominous announcement: “As Foxconn Breaks Ground in Wisconsin, the Costs to Taxpayers Go Up.”.............................

That Walker’s team is seemingly ill-informed may explain why they are so easily duped. But it’s no excuse.

A number of Democratic gubernatorial candidates, including Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers and former state Rep. Kelda Roys, have been doing a good job of calling out the problems with the Foxconn deal. ..........................................

1. Aren't they taking water out of the Great lakes as well?

Before the Mid Continent states like OK and KN etc set their sights on the Great Lakes for water...maybe it's past high time we stop using water to get oil and stop fracking altogether. Solar and Wind can charge batteries.

2. Walker did not get Con-ed.

It was the Citizens of Wisconsin that got taken to the Cleaners. Walker and friends planned this as a insurance policy for the GOP to control State Government for decades.

Amazing Mr. Nichols wording it in the manner he did. Walker is not the sharpest tool in the shed,in saying that,his Bud's were in the room with him pushing this POS.

4. I am surprised that anything involved w/ electronics got this much in investments being ...

that electronics and the average age of such electronics is so low, before being replaced or becomes out of date. You would be better off putting the 4.5 billion into a CD guaranteeing probably 3 %, or this would have generated roughly 135 million a year.

Wonder who is going to be paying the lost $135 million income a year, as well as the $4.5 billion in principal that's gone now.

I mean, it's okay to help invest in private enterprise for large businesses but in electronics? Ask Springfield MO about investing in electronics (TVs back in the 1970s etc.). I don't recall the specific manufacturer then (Zenith or Magnovax (spelling ?)), but they were a big jobs company in Springfield back then. Gone by the wayside a long time ago and lots of jobs lost, lots of pain.
