George Santos breaks silence amid mounting allegations he misrepresented his rsum

The Times report, published on Monday, found that Santos may have misled voters about his college graduation, his criminal and employment history, his family-owned business, his animal rescue charity and his relationship with four victims of the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla.

Joseph Murray, an attorney for Santos, released a statement saying his client “represents the kind of progress that the Left is so threatened by — a gay, Latino, first-generation American and Republican who won a Biden district in overwhelming fashion by showing everyday voters that there is a better option than the broken promises and failed policies of the Democratic Party.

The statement — which ended with a quote erroneously attributed to Winston Churchill — did not directly address the allegations that appeared in the story in the Times.

Meanwhile, the Daily Beast reported Thursday that Santos, who was celebrated by the GOP as the first openly gay non-incumbent Republican elected to Congress, “appears to be the subject of a previously unacknowledged Sept. 2019 divorce with a woman in Queens County, New York.”

Less than two weeks after his divorce was finalized, he filed the official paperwork to launch his unsuccessful 2020 congressional campaign, the Daily Beast said.

A reprehensible liar to be hung around the neck of repuQ leadership like a decomposing albatross long after his brief-ass term in Congress is over. The truth about this guy is still coming to light, so perhaps there’s something that will compel him to resign. A dream, I know…

Lapucelle posted about it late last night. I'll try to find link. She worked his opponent's campaign.

Many times it's an attempt to 'not be gay'. That ploy (obviously) rarely works out, especially nowadays when being openly gay is far more accepted that it was decades ago, so people feel a bit less pressure to 'conform'.

Sometimes they do so because they want biological kids, too.

Could also be that he's Bisexual, but didn't want to present that way because he thought it's easier to be elected as a gay man than as a bisexual one.

Not saying he's not lying about that too, it's certainly possible. But so is the opposite in this one aspect of his story.

That is also why we are fighting for voting rights. A large number of minorities favor Democrats in elections.

They came out with way too many things that are very easy to check and verify, especially now that we all have pretty high-level search capabilities on massive amounts of data.
