Hamas is succeeding at playing the West for fools - The Telegraph

This week, the former hostage Mia Schem gave her first television interview. The 21-year-old French-Israeli tattoo artist described how she had been shot, groped and dragged into Gaza by her hair, where she was operated upon by a vet without anaesthetic and kept like an animal in a zoo. “I went through a holocaust,” she said. This was not the first time her voice had been heard. Before her release at the beginning of December, she had appeared in a Hamas video parroting propaganda. “People very good, very kind to me,” she had said with fear evident in her eyes.

(snip)

This grim vignette is emblematic of how the West has been played by Hamas. In a climate of Israelophobia, morality has been turned on its head. Hamas attempts an act of genocide, yet that same crime is pinned on Israel. Hamas butchers hundreds of innocents, yet Israel gets the blame.

The terrorists know exactly what they are doing. For years, they have dealt with UN officials, NGO representatives and the international media. They understand the Weltanschauung of such circles. They know that they need only enable a supply of videos of civilian casualties and the credulous journalists, sneering diplomats, jihadi sympathisers and useful idiots will do the rest.

(snip)

For Hamas, every innocent casualty is a victory. As far back as 2008, it was collaborating with Iranian planners to design hospitals and schools that could hold missiles. The logic is simple: the martyrs live on in Heaven, the media broadcasts heartrending footage, and the world ratchets up pressure for a ceasefire. Then October 7 can be planned again.

but look at all the seemingly intelligent people who buy right into it because "the children." Does Hamas care about them, except as little terrorist seedlings?

What aboutThe Women? Why do they always come last? I am really sick of women getting tortured and raped, anywhere it happens but especially in Israel and Ukraine.

Ditto my signature line, a million times!

“In a climate of Israelophobia, morality has been turned on its head”. Are they saying we’re in climate of being afraid of Israel? Somehow the world is turning morality on its head out of fearing Israel.

To paraphrase Kelly Anne Conway’s reframing Trump’s lies as “alternative facts” to sound more palatable, it feels like Israeliphobia is being served up as palatable, socially acceptable word to normalize anti-semitism.

Try it on.

In a climate of fearing Israel, morality has been turned on its head.

Vs.

In a climate of hating Jews, morality has been turned on its head.

One is more comfortable and the other is more true.

"Phobia" has morphed from the etymological "fear" to include "hate."

Not sure Islamophobes or transphobes are so much living in terror as seen to express hate and contempt.

Hamas is using residents of Gaza as human shields

https://www.rawstory.com/eu-condemns-hamas-for-using-hospitals-as-human-shields-urges-israeli-restraint/

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union on Sunday condemned Hamas for using "hospitals and civilians as human shields" in Gaza, while also urging Israel to show "maximum restraint" to protect civilians. Hospitals in the north of the Palestinian enclave are blockaded by Israeli forces and barely able to care for those inside, according to medical staff. Gaza's largest and second largest hospitals, Al Shifa and Al-Quds, said they were suspending operations. Israel says Hamas has placed command centres under and near hospitals and it needs to get at them to free around 200 hostages the militants

Its a sickening opinion that dehumanizes children. It also legitimizes (wrongly of course) the hamas attacks against civilians since they have the same opinion about Israelis...

…with a pouch full of food (or a sweet, it might have been candy) and opened it and showed it to her, then ate some, and closed the pouch again … adorable childish behavior.

What did its parents tell it — that this was a nonhuman, go in there and tease? This is a bad person who deserves bad things, that’s why she’s not being fed. Go tease.

Edited to add: What kind of parents teach their little child to do this? What kind of culture?

Discuss.
