Related: About this forumFriend Suggests Zimmerman Used 'Term Of Endearment,' Not Racial Slur, Before Killing Trayvon
&feature=player_embeddedThis morning on ABC News, Oliver was asked about the moment on the 911 tapes when some believe that, just prior to killing Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman used a racial slur. Oliver suggested that Zimmerman did not use a racial slur but said goons, which Oliver described as a term of endearment.

I've never heard either "goons" or "slut" used in any way but as a derogatory insult.

...saying that "goon" is a term of endearment??? Especially when it is preceded by "f*cking"???
I have no opinion on whether or not the term was uttered -- did not listen to the recording (either the one with or the one without the supposed epithet). But trying to say that using the phrase "f*cking goon" should be interpreted as a term of endearment, especially when it was (or may have been) uttered *right before fatally shooting someone* -- yeah, right, you betcha.
The crazies are really out in the open these days, aren't they.

(11,689 posts)We just have to be understanding and listen a little harder to catch the distinction between his 'k' and 'g' sounds. I'm sure when the krand jury kets a chance to listen to the tapes, their geen ears will be able to gatch the subtleties of his agcent.

(480 posts)Is he an actor, PR man or an attorney? So Zimmerman used a term of endearment, then he shot the kid. Come on buddy. Friend, maybe, professional spin doctor, wouldn't surprise me a bit.
