their mirrors, all at the same time. Cutting off their view to the right.
While it should be against the law to hang stuff from the mirror, if it isn't, I agree this man probably got stopped for driving while Black.

2. Ever see those handicapped tags hanging from the rear view mirror?

People driving around?
Of course you have.
I have one for legitimate reasons.
It says ON THE DAMN TAG "REMOVE BEFORE DRIVING"!
Which I do.

This is a bullshit stop by a white cop on a black citizen.
Hey asshole, go out and arrest all the geezers driving around with their big mirror hangers.

As uncomfortable as I get just being in the presence of cops, I can't imagine how terrifying it would be to be Black and have to interact with these psychopaths.

Holy fuck.

5. That cop was trolling.

The stop had nothing to do with air freaheners hanging from his rear view mirror.

That was just an excuse to see if he could find something else to charge the driver with.

Too many cops are just predators now, especially when it comes to African American drivers. The hyper scrutiny when they see a black driver is out of hand.

Anyone else that cop would have just drove on by.

6. That and the turn signal is classic pig trolling for trouble.

My buddy got busted at a music event near Peoria Illinois. The local yokel cops stake out the fest every year and bust kids coming for the show.

My buddy was a third year law student so he was smart enough to not consent to the search by the K-9 unit conveniently standing at the ready. Of course, the pigs penalized him and made him spend the night in jail - others who consented were given bench warrants. The cops even tried to tell our Public Defender buddy not to bother trying to bail him out until after the weekend - that didn't fly with our PD friend so he was able to spring him.

Anyway, when our PD friend looked in to it, all the stops were for turn signals and "obstructed view" violations.

My buddy was certain he signaled. The prosecutor dropped the charges once the dash cam was subpoenaed.

7. And as with Sandra Bland they have a way to coerce you to not signal . . .

by driving up behind you at speed.

Most drivers' first instinct is to move over quickly without signaling to let the cop car pass to get to his/her radio call.

There is no call of course as the cop is preying on the driver — usually African American or Latino American — to see what they can charge them with, or better yet, create a situation where they can satisfy their bully instincts with a physically violent arrest or even a shooting.

10. Connecticut state cops have trick

Connecticut state cops have this trick: It is illegal to pass on the right.
You are minding your own business in the right lane, driving within the speed limit. The cop drives fast past you on the left.
Then the cop slams on his brakes. You have passed him on the right!

Cute, eh?

Often used near Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun. These towns are like Ferguson, MO, want every $$ they can get from drivers in "routine traffic stops".
Time to end "routine traffic stops". They do nothing for public safety; merely a game for malicious cops.

They're out there on the roads playing games with people with their tricks.

That motto of "Protect and Serve" is long gone. Now it just about tricking people into minor traffic violations so they can pull you over.

If it's black or Latino driver, who they target, even better. They try to figure out a way to escalate the situation like that a hole did with Sandra Bland.

They're supposed to be trained to deescalate but many do the opposite to get their bully rocks off.

8. That cop could...

...barely keep a straight face while telling the guy that he had pulled him over for his air freshener.

This kind of blatant racist cop profiling has NEVER been ok, but in 2015?... this shit is DEFINITELY still NOT OK and even moreso now than ever! That little, smirking prick of a cop should be facing an internal investigation and relocation to a desk job or firing.

Federal anti-discrimination laws need to be moved to the front burner with steep fines and jail time if Americans are ever going to begin taking them seriously. And, cop shops are so infested with racist corruption, they need to be (metaphorically) burned to the ground and started over from scratch.
