Related: About this forumTYT: CNN's Bizarrely Homophobic Coverage Of Virginia Shooter
Cable news has been digging into the past of the Virginia TV news shooter. CNN has chosen to focus on a particularly odd area. Eventually Don Lemon had to take a stand by saying the killer's sexual preferences were irrelevant to the story. Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz (Turner Classic Movies), John Iadarola (Think Tank), and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show Podcast), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down on tonights TYT Power Panel. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"In its reporting on the fatal shooting of two journalists in Virginia, CNN repeatedly and needlessly mentioned the shooter's history of registering gay porn websites as evidence that he was unstable and disturbed.
On August 27, CNN reported that Vester Flanagan II, the man who shot and killed two journalists on live television in Virginia, had set up domain names for several gay porn websites between 2007 and 2008.

(14,449 posts)1. They go into the background of all shooters
They always have and always will. Some even go so far to check out if they are on social media, go to church or even what professional groups they belong to. It is a way to understand the mentality of the murderer. I doubt this will change. We were thrilled when we found out that roof was attached to the confederate flag. The background of gay sites is immaterial but what they are really trying say is that he is a liberal without coming out and saying it. That's really what we are up against here.

So we should assume all people who live in apartments are gun wielding murdering lunatics.
