Related: About this forumBREAKING! Hillary Says Nomination Process Should Go To June! Great News!!!
She notes "Everybody should just take a deep breath."
She gives some excellent reasons too for why she says nomination process should go through June. Good for Hillary!!!!
- Everyone should have a chance to vote
- Everone should have a chance to be heard
- Uncommitted delegates need to make their decision as to who would make best President & better candidate
- Patience is important and she wants to continue to make her case around the country to all the voters
- SuperDelegates are there for a purpose - to determine who would make a stronger candidate in General Election
- SuperDelegates can change their minds, even thru the convention
- Pledged delegates from most states can change their minds as well
Finally, she says there are four important factors:
- It's important to look 1.) where the delegates came from, 2.) how many people actually elected those delegates, 3.) what the kind of outcomes were, and 4.) who has a bigger base to build an electoral majority on.
I think Hillary has a good point, and it is as true today as it was in 08, and we should all respect what she is saying about letting everyone have a chance to vote and have their voices be heard.

(3,580 posts)I support HRC but as soon as Bernie jumped in I was relieved because anything can happen and I thought it makes sense to have someone who is already campaigning in case one of them keels over.

(40,416 posts)I would hope that she still holds up to these standards. It would be very worrisome if she didn't.

(3,580 posts)Let's face it, Bernie does bring a specific demographic to the primary, some will transition to Hillary if she is the nominee for the GE.
And everyone should be able to vote.

(40,416 posts)However some Secy Clinton supporters have been calling for Bernie to drop out. Hence this post from 2008.
And Bernie has already more or less said what Ms. Clinton says here.
But I have to correct you. It is not up to Senator Sanders. It is up to the voters. (Just like Hillary says in the video.)
Drops mic.
BTW, I love Shirley Chisolm!
