Looking forward to the interview! Spike Lee is clearly fighting back against the Hollywood Establishment's reflexive support of Clintons. He has earned my greatest admiration and respect, along with Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, not only for their great artistry but for their deep care about our society and its catastrophic decline into vast inequality, and unchecked covert and overt war.
Hillary Clinton, very unfortunately, is on the wrong side of history for aiding and abetting vast inequality and aiding and abetting unchecked covert and overt war as Secretary of State. She is a disaster as a Democratic Party candidate, and will be a disaster in the White House--a disaster that all of the rest of us will suffer, here and abroad--if she makes it there, due to the disarray in the Republican Party. (Her win is even iffy if they continue their disarray. She is that beatable. No support from Independents (the largest voting bloc in the country)--no support from young people; totally uninspiring--surrogates portraying free public college tuition--WHICH WE ONCE HAD IN THIS COUNTRY--as "unicorns"! Jeez.)
She was already pivotal in destabilizing Honduras, Libya and Syria. She has Henry Fucking Kissinger as an adviser! She has Robert ("Project for a New American Century"
Kagan (neocon godfather) as an adviser! Forever War will be our fate. And we can kiss this planet goodbye, cuz she ain't gonna help us fix it.
While her billionaire donors arrange for their cushy berths on the 'Titanic,' those of us on the lower decks, chained and gated against the lifeboats, get to drown. They don't care. I don't know if she does, but I do know that she will do their bidding. The immense effort needed to save this planet from climate catastrophe will not occur. The ONLY candidate calling this effort a MORAL duty is Bernie Sanders. And it is the only issue he uses that word to describe: a MORAL duty. And when Bernie Sanders sees a moral duty, he acts--as he has done all his life.
