I was obviously nervous and the instructor gave me a break - I did manage it, but he gave me a second chance, asked me if I could get closer. And I passed! Whew!

But it made me recall one of my biggest parallel parking triumphs ever when I parallel parked a full sized 18 wheeler in downtown Seattle at some high end hotel. I had an audience and everything, glad it was a fancy rig that time! It just slid right into the spot that a fire truck had just exited.

Now I drive an SUV and I just run over the curb to make sure to cut down on going back and forth, though I have few opportunities to parallel park out here in flyoverland.
