Similarities Suggest Coordination In Fake Elector Letters From Republicans In Five States - TRMS

Rachel Maddow updates reporting on Republicans submitting forged elector letters as if Donald Trump had won their states instead of Joe Biden, with the number of states involved up to at least five, and a pattern of coordination becoming more evident. (Edited for length from the original broadcast.) Aired on 01/11/2022.

Follow up from last night's report:

Republicans In At Least Three States Filed Forged Elector Letters - Rachel Maddow - MSNBC

Rachel Maddow shares reporting from Politico of Republicans in Michigan and Arizona creating fake elector letters pretending to certify Donald Trump and Mike Pence the winners of their states even though Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won them both, with the Michigan letter markedly similar to a previously reported forged Wisconsin letter. Aired on 01/10/2022.

7. There have been no arrests, I don't even think they have been questioned - yet

But they know who they are - they all signed the forged documents, pretending to be the legitimate electors! And in one state, they showed up in person so they could vote (but they weren't let in)!

What a terrible shame putin's puppets attempting to destroy our country aren't treated the same as "serious" criminals. You know, like a Black man with a handful of individual cigarettes he's trying to sell.

12. Or what happened to a Black man suspected of passing a counterfeit $20 bill

Same thing happened to me a couple of years back. I stopped at the bank and took out some money, then stopped at a nearby station where I usually got gas. I paid with a $20 that I'd just gotten at the bank, then went to get in my car, when the clerk I'd just paid followed me out, handed me my $20 and asked if I had another one, which I did and that was it. Turns out the $20 I gave her was from 1951(!) and didn't have the usual watermark so she was suspicious. The difference was that I knew the clerk and it was one blonde woman to another.

their own and submitting those? Why? There had to be a plan in place, and they thought they knew it would work and they would be protected. I don't think there will be much trouble finding out who masterminded this one. Should be fun.

11. And yet those who inadvertently vote when they were prohibited (like that guy in Texas last year)

Are immediately sent to jail - while these people (in SEVEN states now) falsely claimed to be electors, even signed their names to these forged documents, yet there still have been no repercussions.
