1. MAGA Republicans Versus Non-MAGA Republicans

In the above clip. Hayes discusses how McCarthy's attempts to become Speaker is going. Far Right MAGA nut jobs like MTG and Jim Jordan are trying to control McCarthy and hold him hostage with their votes. McCarthy is having trouble getting to the 218 votes he needs without becoming weakened and compromised by the MAGA wing of the Party.

The other side is that there are some non-MAGA Republicans that support McCarthy and some even say they might try and get some Democratic votes to block the MAGA holdouts. This is not a fantasy. Republican Representative Bacon of Nebraska says this very thing in the above clip. He is on about 4 or 5 minutes into the clip. It is worth watching the whole thing for context as the whole show is about McCarthy's attempts to become Speaker.

My takeaway is that there might be room for Dems to help the anti-MAGA Republicans and get a Republican Speaker that is not owned by the MAGA wing of the Party.
