There is little doubt his moon face is a classical high-dose steroid effect. Why he might have been on corticosteroids is unknown, clearly, but these non-medical people are getting ahead of themselves, just as the web bloggers and "anonymous" leakers projecting all manner of dire diagnoses on him are.

Might US NSC and other security officials not wish to add fuel to any fire that Putin might not be long for the world due to health issues? Probably so.
