How Winter Might Be Ukraine's Ally - William Spaniel

Much of the public discourse regarding winter and the war suggests that the change in weather will hurt Ukraine's chances by giving Russia more time to regroup. Russia indeed will benefit from that, but the overall relationship is not so simple. Freezing temperatures and snow will give Ukraine an upper hand on other dimensions. Ultimately, we may come to see winter as Ukraine's ally.

It is equally cold on both sides. It is a time when logistics become the queen of the battlefield. Shoes and socks become as important is bombs and bullets. With the allied support, I have to believe that Ukraine has the advantage. Perhaps they should turn the historic tide of Russian campaigns and attack the Russians during the coldest part of the year. Teach the Russians to hate Winter as much as the Germans did in the 40s.

More friendly civilians willing to provide restful warming stations to their soldiers.
