1. Can you imagine El Cheetolino?

He would've invited Vlad the Invader - and than started howling about how Putin's been "misunderstood, and frankly, treated unfairly - very unfairly - by our biased media...a problem I've had myself, I can tell you."

I'm almost certain Trump would've denied any assistance to Ukraine - including going so far as to veto any congressional aid (even if it enjoyed bi-partisan support).

He - and his Farce News surrogates - would've caterwauled about how it would've all taken from "infrastructure week."

Which, of course, we wouldn't have gotten either.

Specifically, something that benefits him, not the people or the country.

As for "infrastructure week" - which never materialized - we are currently seeing desperately needed repairs and work on bridges and roadways right here in my New York county - and have been for months!

Always good to see local public works needs being met.

I live in Colorado Springs, which for years had a Tea Party mayor that refused to spend on infrastructure - preferring instead to hand out tax abatements that often led to fly-by-night firms leasing space for three years or so (and then hot-footing it out of the city once said abatements expired).

Living in a city where it snows 5 months out of the year - and is fairly fast-growing besides - the policy soon led to a mountain of potholes, malfunctioning signals, stretched-thin police coverage, and such problems.

Eventually, even the RW voters here had enough of him - and soon they elected a moderate Republican (John Souther), who persuaded voters to approve a small local tax increase and bond issues, both of which have made a lot of difference.

Good governance, Republican voters here learned the hard way, matters.

That said, Happy Holidays! All the Best to you and yours.

Not to mention constant roadwork on the major highway in these parts which went on all summer. Bridges are an ongoing concern which are finally being addressed, some are still ongoing. And we have heard about these dangers for years.

And we are in "snow country," too. It was a little late this year, but it's making up for it this weekend. It's not unusual here to have snowstorms through April.

I also have family in Colorado, my cousins grew up in Denver and are now grown and living with their families in nearby towns. And so I have heard about the changeable weather, sunny one hour and snow the next. My one cousin now in Castle Rock (she and are are the only females in our generation) who is very proactive, supporting schools and the environment - and I know how she votes!

Kudos that you finally were able to elect someone proactive. We dodged a bullet here in New York when the voters rejected a downstate far right Republican who challenged the Democratic governor. However, closer to home, we are stuck with Stefanik again - though with redistricting, she no longer lives in the district!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday as well - and stay safe out there!

I once went to a speech she made and got to see her close up and in person since before hand she signed her books. I had more than one book for her to sign and she only signed one since the turnout and demand was so high that she must have has writers' cramp!
