BOISE, Idaho -- Police in southwest Idaho say a man chose briefs over boxers to wear on his head as he held up a coffee shop and stole a safe.
Coffee shop owner Jason Wilson tells the Idaho Statesman says he believes the man was likely not prepared when he entered Big Star Coffee in Fruitland with an accomplice on Tuesday morning ...

It was just one of those days! First I couldn't remember how to put on my underwear, then I couldn't remember how to order a cup of coffee!

The teller, who was behind thick bullet resistant glass, didn't cooperate with them so the robbers ran off on foot only to be apprehended in a near by swamp.

DALLAS - A failed bank robber may want to pay attention to the saying, "Never underestimate the power of a good plan."
Police say a man armed with a knife -- possibly as big as a machete -- tried to rob a bank in East Dallas Tuesday morning. The trouble was, he tried to rob the drive-through.
Officers surrounded the Comerica Bank at 11155 Garland Road near Jupiter Road after the man threatened a teller at the drive-through around 10:30 a.m.
The suspect grew frustrated and ended up running away with nothing.

There was a story like this a few years ago, which I meant to search the web for, but I accidentally searched the news instead and found another example from a few weeks ago

(36,384 posts)In a very small town not far from where I live, a guy pulls into the bank branch parking lot. He gets out of his car wearing a mask. However, people know who he is because they recognize his car (this being a very small town). He robs the bank, gets into his getaway car and drives off to his hideout which is his home. He hides the car by leaving it parked in the front driveway.
If I recall correctly, the police had him arrested in about 15 minutes from the time he robbed the bank.
