I had a metal one. It worked better on the front door steps.

When it was Slinky time we would look for interesting places that had steps or a ramp or hill. One might think that this limitation on where it could be enjoyed would ruin some of the fun but it was actually the opposite.

I really did not like the plastic ones as they were cheap pieces of crap that fell apart very fast. Give me the metal ones every day of the week.

I did like the colors on the plastic though.
