The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSo lets suppose that someone made a cheesy movie about Your everday life.
What music would you want playing while you do simply mundane tasks? For instance, I think every time I was depicted walking I'd want this playing...
What would you choose to accompany you doing everyday things?
(for instance eating, cooking, driving, getting dressed, taking a bath, fighting with your spouse, changing a diaper whatever.) It can be any music, (i.e. not limited to film scores)
(ok this was my best idea to wake up the lounge tonight )

Along with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Grand Opera.
"La Grange" is about the whorehouse, the Chicken Ranch, in La Grange, that Marvin Zindler busted in the summer of 1973. The story was later made into the play and movie "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".
Miss Edna, the madam, looked NOTHING like Dolly Parton, BTW.

(19,385 posts)Pretty much a Blues tradition. Love ZZ Top BTW, Billy Gibbons is probably the greatest guitar player you never hear mentioned when the "greats" are being discussed (even Jimi Hendrix thought so, quoted once as saying that Billy was 'America's greatest guitar player').
NOBODY looks like Dolly, one of a kind. So was Miss Edna though, quite a remarkable woman.

I'd never seen a bar fight before. I'm sheltered.

(19,385 posts)Early '70s through mid '80s. Some good stuff there too. His solo efforts started in '92 with "Empty Arms Motel", killer album BTW. I'd suggest Empty Arms Motel, '94s Trouble Man, and '96s Drive To Survive as good albums to check out. There's a pretty decent amount of tunes on YouTube, but a lot of them are bootleg live recordings and the sound quality is poor.
No touring for me these days, just play around the Bay Area. Current lineup is 1 guitar, keyboard, bass, and drums. We all share vocals pretty evenly.
This is one of the Thackery tunes we do (I sing it ) "Lickin' Gravy" from Empty Arms Hotel.
