(9,999 posts)2. I got tense watching that. Poor thing.
They were initially trying to pull him out by the bridle he was wearing, with what looks like a big old western bit. That would put a lot of pressure on his tongue and lips. Surprised the leather didn't break. The belly band, and probably one around his rump, would be the way to go. I saw they immediately took off the bridle and put on a halter.
Poor guy.

btw, it's easy to criticize those who were trying to rescue this horse, and the methods they used, but their hearts were in the right place, and it did end well.
