(17,996 posts)I have always used self rising flour. Tennessee Husband. But my Grandmother and Mother were the biscuit and roll bakers.
Can you get homemade strawberry freezer jam.? Strawberries, sugar, sure jell. No cook. Just crush berries, sugar and sure jell. Let set for 24 hours, freeze. The DIL loves to do it now. They have the garden.a jar of blackberry jam for Christmas.

(10,156 posts)I make mine with stevia to cut out added sugars. I've done canning quite a bit with jams and preservatives. But that's an interesting way to make jam. Mine I did the old fashion way.

(17,996 posts)Would like to try it. Should have known you are a real Southern girl. I am a Buckeye, grew up just north of the Ohio River. My Grandmother actually became a cook on the RR for my Grandfathers crew after raising 6 children. I used to go to Toledo with him to get the big orders.

(10,156 posts)When you're doing the mixing process. You add it once the berries are gelled. That way when you heat it it'll absorb into the jam! I learned how to make jam on my own since I love cooking. My grandmother was extremely southern. In the best ways! She made so much home cooked meals by scratch. Sadly I wish we had her recipes before she passed on.
As for southern girl. Not yet but I just begun hormone replacement therapy. So I have begun transitioning!

(17,996 posts)I actually ordered 6 pkgs. of Kraft Caramels in my online order that consisted of other things. The caramels were delivered in less than an hour. They had them at the store! Walmart!
