What are the dangers of propane gas driven firepits?

I know about the California warnings claiming that it can cause birth defects and cancer, but it's hard to assess the danger when it's an outdoor feature. And, aren't most gas grill barbecues the same thing?

Those are outdoor exposures. What about the fake fire places that are sold to be operated indoors?

What an environmental slap in the face from the millennial posh culture. They're everywhere now. Something about this generation and the need for fire pits constantly - winter summer and everything in between. It's almost like they they just don't get it.

had one of the longest fire pits I've ever seen - it was a rooftop one at least 20 feet long. I've always wondered what besides CO2 is in the combustion by-products.

Where and when I grew up, most people used unvented propane gas heaters to heat their homes. I wouldn't do that today, but it did not cause any apparent problems. Outside the combustion gasses will disperse very rapidly.
