"Why there are no good conservative comedians."

In short: They are too obsessed with messaging their political narrative to properly set up and tell a joke.

So obsessed with their own political belief that conservative comedy-actors cannot even play a liberal character in a satirical sketch, because that would require saying the OPPOSITE of what the actor actually believes.

So obsessed with offending other people, so obsessed with cheap conservative laughs about somebody being offended, that they forgot there are other types of jokes beside "Oh boy, they are gonna be so offended about this!"

The only difference between a conservative joke and a conservative talking-point is the tone of the voice.

Conservatives regard comedy as a political culture-war weapon, not as a social tool to safely talk about problems.

The host also shows some examples how conservative comedians used to be funny 20 years ago, and how contemporary conservative comedians are bitter and angry in comparison.

Sorry about the in-video ads, but the people who made the video are super-nice comedy-veterans, I swear.

And that's all they can do cuz they would never poke fun at themselves. Never. It's one of the traits they all have in common—they take themselves very seriously. They don't laugh much either.

.....pressured the local newspaper to add a conservative comic strip. The best they could do was "Mallard Fillmore", which featured a dumb duck whose only thing was making silly, sarcastic remarks about fuzzy headed liberals and academics. After a while the paper had to admit that it was profoundly unfunny.

was funny.

1) mean-spirited

2) unable to laugh at themselves

3) humorless insults

4) juvenile name calling

5) underlying sense of "uptightness" in their routines
