Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsCold and snowy in southern Illinois this morning. So far, at the feeders, I've seen
cardinals, several races of sparrows, mourning doves, black-capped chickadees, tufted titmice, dark-eyed juncos, downy woodpeckers, goldfinches, redpolls and red-winged blackbirds.
They'll be lucky if one of the local Cooper's hawks don't decide to make a meal out of one of them.

(17,145 posts)The last couple of days, I've filled the feeders at sunset, so I don't have to go out in the morning cold. Working out good for the birds. They get a head start on the squirrels

(16,213 posts)a Mourning Dove one morning. Sheesh, they are fast.
We're in coastal west central Floriduh and have doves, blue jays, pileated woodpeckers, red bellied woodpeckers, , cardinals, two bald eagles (both lit on a branch of our oak tree) and the hawk at times. The blue jays are a growing flock.
The eagles do a high soar most days over the area looking for meals I guess.

Id love to see them; I love their song.
Lot of bluebirds lately after the suet, of course the ever present robins, and bunches of brown thrashers. Blue jays occasionally visit. Lots of hawks around here too.
3 chickens in the backyard lol.
