Rampant inflation (greed) 1 item 2 stores a mile apart

I normally shop at Wally World & not because I want or like to. Because or local Kroger/ Fred Meyer went yuppie & upscaled everything-prices included.

Shopping has gotten so expensive at Wally I decided to pick up a few items at Fred Meyer. I took my old shopping receipt to compare.

Sadly it wasn't even close. The Fred Meyer was consistently a dollar more for a under five dollar item.

But the one that left me angry & surprised they could get away with it was a large size Coffee-Caffe Bustello.

At Walmart it was $14.89

Fred Meyer $20.98

One item over $6.00 extra profit.

However, we don't know what the wholesale contract is between the two.

The purchasing volume of Wally World might be getting it for cheaper so it might not all be profit.

Sucks either way.

When another store sells it for $14.89. Just buy it there.

Does the higher priced store pay their employees better ?

prices of items I consistently buy. Have for years. It is a big help. I can tell you what I paid for items two or three years ago. Coffee, paper towels, you name it, I have it on my spread sheet. Then I buy in volume when I find a good price.

So with this inflation, I can tell who is really greedy.

But I will say this, and many people might not believe me, but with careful shopping, I am matching or doing better than prices 2-3 years ago. It does take time. I do this shopping late at night when I am watching TV.

Having had this habit for decades (early in my career, I was a media buyer of television, which taught me the value of being a sharp buyer), I was already stockpiled before going into inflation. I have had to buy very little since it started, and when I do, it is only at sale prices.

I like it; it's a game to me.

size to beat down the price suppliers charge. Then the suppliers can't pay their people a living wage. Wally World is what is wrong with America right now.
