I think I've had an epiphany concerning my ADD

As I've gotten older, especially the last few years, I find it much more difficult to do ONE thing at a time. I used to be able to sit in the theater room for hours, listening to music or watching the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, but it is so difficult to do those things any longer. I feel like I NEED to be doing something more. These days, my viewing or listening is chopped into smaller blocks....30 minute anime episodes or 20 minutes of listening to Chicago II before moving on to something else.
And if I do watch or listen to something longer, I feel the need to research something on my phone or check DU.

I have come to believe that this is because I am getting much older...much, much older. I think my brain figures it must cram as much stimuli in as possible because time is running out.

Anyone else feel this way or constantly need to be doing "more"?

I still wish I could sit and enjoy a movie without feeling like I should be doing something else.

I've always been like this! My daughter told me she thinks I have ADHD. I didn't know it. Explains a lot!

She also told me I'm charismatic! Hmmm...

Gotta love our grown-up kids!

As a result, I have come to consider it an asset rather than a liability.

to engage successfully in multitasking compared to when we were younger? Or, put another way, having way too many attention-seeking-devices/avenues at our fingertips?

I feel paradoxically both a compulsive multitasker as well as a tunnel-visioned hyperfocused unitasker, depending on the topic/project. I know that I am so easily distracted that often have to force the unitasking else nothing gets done--or more likely, a bunch gets partially done (story of my life: unfinished projects).

to let their 4 dogs outside.

What a freaking circus that was.

Dogs are hilariously goofy.
