Some of these answers are "too good." I find it hard to believe the students actually wrote some of these.

she sometimes used to show us some of the 'creative' answers on tests and quizzes.

One I'll never forget...

She taught a unit on prefixes and suffixes. In one question the kids had to define then give an example.


Q: Semi

A: A dance

Example: Semi-formal

6. When I was taking Spanish in college

we often had written homework with repetitive exercises. The idea was to use a particular word or grammatical structure often enough to make it sink in as second nature. But it was so boring that I entertained myself with silly answers that made puns out of English/Spanish cognates, or used famous names as an imagined person that we were supposed to be addressing with a question or answer.

I found out later that the Spanish professor shared my homework with other professors.
