I couldn't understand why we couldn't make the change. We like things that are convienient and easy to remember. The metric system is based on the numbers 10, 100 and 1,000- what could be easier?

which never made sense to me. My high school science classes used metric; just pick a measurement system and stick with it.

They of course used metric machine drawings, and all the machines and measuring tools were metric. It actually wasn't difficult since there were no conversions needed.

I have bought beer in pint bottles (Sprecher), and in 12 ounce bottles, and in third liter bottles (11.3 ounces). I always feel cheated with the third liter bottles.

I resisted for years. Had digital calipers that could read metric on demand, but always used inch scale for projects. Recently watched a You Tube video of a welder building something that caught my fancy. He zipped off his measurements in metrics so easily marking his cuts. I decided next welding project I did was gonna be done in meters. Ordered a set of Metric rulers and a metric tape measure. Haven't built anything yet, but I'm ready.

I found the easiest way was to just flip my brain and not try to convert. Just to internalize the measurements based on what I needed in real life. Funny, the first 2 things I remember not having to think about were kilometers (how many klicks) while driving and my kids clothing sizes in centimeters! Eventually, it just happened and I didn’t think about it anymore.
