For those of you who can't figure out why generations of families stay in Florida.

I am up near the Georgia line, all of the windows in the house are open, and I am sitting here shirtless working on a leather project and sipping iced tea. I will stay here and fight the Fascists!

potato soup. In the summertime, I'm out at first light before it gets hot. It cools off enough at night to be perfect and ends up in the 90s.

I'll stay here and fight the fascists too.

For me it’s an intense dislike of cold. I’ve never lived north of I-10. I’m in the Florida Panhandle. Hurricane Michael didn’t chase me out of here and I’ll be damned if DeSatan and his cohorts will.

How could she afford to live in Southern California? It’s expensive as heck. Florida is perfect. Sure every two years in November is disappointing but then you see the sun and ocean.

I'm at 9000' ASL in the Colorado Rockies. Had a fresh dusting of snow last night, about 2 inches. The sun's out and it's just below freezing on the thermometer. Was just outside in my shirtsleeves. No wind and warm enough to get a tan if that's your thing. Solar heating at this altitude must be experienced to be understood. The surrounding mountains and conifers are beautiful with a fresh mantle of snow.

Colorado, the first state with cannabis legalization and (still) legal abortion. The first state with an openly gay governor. Not trading blue state freedom for red state fascism and religious insanity just for a brief weather respite in December. Somehow not jealous. Sorry, not sorry.

You do outside tasks early or late in the day. I worked outside in it, year round, in my 20s and early 30s.

My wife is disabled, we have 8 dogs, 2 cats and take care of over a dozen TNRed feral cats here in my neighborhood. Moving is just not an option.
