And I love it! I recommend it to any smoker. Check out vaporescence. You won't be disappointed.

(5,317 posts)If it works then great, it's sure as hell better than the real things. But it still keeps nicotine in your system and delays the inevitable withdrawal, which is REALLY going to suck no matter when you stop using nicotine.

Kind of odd to see these folks working in a retail store and puffing away.
One even wears it on a chain around her neck but has been steadily stepping down her use.

(3,502 posts)I love them, too. I'm not too worried about stepping down the use. Right now it's just nice not to have the ashes, the smell, the risk of actually setting something on fire and the cough. It's been a couple of weeks and my cough is just about gone. I will check out vaporescence. Right now I'm not filling anything myself or anything fancy. Just keeping it simple using the two pieces with prefilled cartridges.

(3,502 posts)There are an awful lot of types, strengths and flavors and things, though, so if you ever feel like giving it another try, just try one you didn't try before.
I think the transition has be very easy for me because where I am, with taxes, cigarettes have gotten so expensive that I long ago gave up having "my brand". First I went with whatever generic was the best price, then when even those started getting close to $10 a pack I started going out to the reservation and buying native brands. Doing that brought the cost down to what I was paying in the early nineties for cigarettes, but I certainly had to learn to be flexible and like what I got, mostly. I really think that made it a lot easier to switch to something entirely different.

(21,020 posts)how expensive is it?
Initially and for refills.
My daughter has tried to quit smoking without success. I suggested e cigarettes, she says her insurance won't pay for it, but then I stop and think, wait a minute...if someone is already paying nearly $10 a pack, how would an e cigarette be any worse?

(2,542 posts)2 atomizers, 2 batteries, charger, 5 tips, and a month+ of liquid. I was smoking $8 a day so it's more upfront but ill see savings this or next month. Liquid goes for about $17 a month, have to replace atomizers about 5-8 weeks they go for around $20
