(2,560 posts)One day, I was walking down my street and I saw "our" cat in a garden with a woman and another cat. The cat recognised me and came for a hug. The woman explained that the cat would go visiting various people in the neighbourhood, staying at each home for a few days or a few weeks before moving on, eventually returning to its original home.
The other cat was its sister from the same litter and she was scared of people even though she'd never been mistreated in any way.

(20,886 posts)He would spend a few days here and a few days there. Then one morning I awoke with him asleep on my bed. I was about ready to get my little male neutered so whisked up my visitor and took him along. Floyd then became my cat, forsaking the rest of the neighborhood.

<Unbeknownst to each of his owners, Sid the cat lives with six different people on the same street. By doing so, he's able to get six different dinners every night! He also answers to six names, sleeps in six beds, and maintains six different personalities. All is perfect for Sid - until the day he catches a dreadful cough. Then it is off to the vet not once, but six times! Inga Moore's humorous illustrations capture Sid's sly nature.>

(33,688 posts)A few years ago my dear cat had passed and I went back to the shelter to meet a couple of kittehs that I'd seen on their website.
One had already been adopted and another was too skittish.
So I was sitting in the waiting area and this big ol' Turkish Van looking tom came over and plopped down in the chair next to me and gave me a look that said "you've seen the rest, now check out the best." He went home with me.
