Need some help, desperately

Hi, not sure if this is legal, but I thought I'd ask. I'm in pretty awful financial straits this morning due to a large medical bill which put me $240 in the red. Our anniversary is coming up on the 21st and there are four mouths to feed until the 1st (I'm on a fixed income).

I'm wondering if people could check out my shops and perhaps spread the word about them with their friends off of DU. I have to make some sales and raise money *fast*. I really apologize for the SPAM, and for the 'begging,' but I have a selection of items that would be of interest to DU members.

There is a coupon code that gives DU members 20% off at both stores (there are different items at both), it's DUMEMBER20. In addition there are many offers available in the stores themselves (some are up to 25% off).

You can visit my post here in the DU Marketplace or visit the shops directly at
The Wits End (online store)
The Wits End at Etsy

Thank you so much!

I completely understand.

I am on a fixed income due to my health and working less than part time. And my partner's graphic's art business tends to slow dramatically during the summer.

I just had to sell for quick cash some old hardware rack units to get our accounts out of the red this morning.

There are far too many of us in these types of situations.

Good luck to you!

Yeah, it seems like it never ends, just barely keeping your head above the water most of the time and then the unexpected happens.

We started her new business this year and were getting some financial assistance from my parents. My father tragically died back in January and that changed the support my mother alone could continue to give. We have been living week by week. If we get a big emergency or crisis, it will really suck for us.

All we can do is keep working hard and asking for help where we can.

hard in so many ways. -

Yeah, just have to keep fighting. It is surprising how hard it is for me to 'ask for help.' I've been working since I was 12 years old. I have absolutely no problem with the concept of people asking for help when needed, in general - but me specifically; wow it was tough. I never lived with my family, so that isn't an option here.

I left home at 17 and never went back to live with my parents ever after that. It was only after I got sick in my late 30's and my alcoholic ex-wife divorced me that I finally learned that I needed and had to learn to ask for help from others.

Thankfully I still have a big close family that can assist when desperately needed and my partner and I always have each others backs.

could have been closer to my family. However; I really wouldn't have changed things. Grew up in foster homes, and started hitchhiking all over the country in my early teens. With that and the Coast Guard I've managed to hit all 50 states and all 7 continents. Not bad for someone that grew up eating ketchup sandwiches with Tabasco sauce (to make them last longer) in the streets of NYC LOL.

I feel for you about your first wife, my first one was a - nevermind, no need to discuss that.

Glad you like them. I actually have about 10 new mouse pads, 4 new totes, and a number of new bumper stickers, but I haven't gotten around to taking photos of them to make listings (which is quite embarrassing in and of itself, since I'm a photographer LQTM).

If that is available for a mouse pad, you can hold one back and send it when you screen the quote on it.

I need one pad soonest, the other can wait a bit.

If not, that's fine too.

But yes, do post your pics, now that you have more traffic from your post.

10. Sure, I can do that up for you.

I'll work on making a design that fits on a mouse pad today.

And yeah, I need to get the listings up. I'll probably put them up on the online store first, since my Etsy one will probably be suspended on the 21st unless I get things caught up :/

The flow of traffic always kind of amuses me. >7,000,000,000 in the world and I never have a clue when a sale will come in.
