(15,224 posts)I grew up on her music. My favorite is "Bless The Beasts and the Children". She was a pioneer at the time as not many women were drummers, and her voice remains unequaled today.

I've been a musician for 40+ years. I have only heard four voices that cannot be closely copied: two men (Sinatra, Bennett - seriously, try and sing along with either one. You can't ever put the breaths in the same place or get the phrasing right), two women (Karen and K.D. Lang). Either you can sing like that or you can't. It cannot be learned. It is a pure gift.
Richard, on the other hand, was and is creepy well beyond words.
