(102,589 posts)it does not. That feature probably came about somewhere in 2004 or later.

(6,996 posts)It was when Mike Malloy was fired by AirAmerica. Sam Seder directed his listeners to a petition on DU to bring Malloy back.
I've been a devoted DUer ever since.

Howard Dean was a presidential candidate at the time and I ran across one of his anti-war articles that had been linked from another site to the front page of DU. It just went from there and I've been a member of this community for 9 years now.

(18,497 posts)That was the official launch of DU. It really seems like I was posting and reading DU before that, and some form of DU existed in the Selection nightmare. But I must be mistaken.

(7,658 posts)That actually surprised me that it was 4:30 am although I'm guessing that's eastern time(?) which would be 2:30 mountain time; doesn't sound QUITE as crazy as 4:30, I guess, at least to me. (?)
I did remember all along that it had been the 4th of July, which just seemed, and seems somehow like a good day to have joined DU.

(5,390 posts)Started reading and lurking in 2002. Move On was the first on-line community I joined in 2001. I spent time after that organizing local house parties and protests in opposition to bush's little war. I lived in a very small (republican) town at the time and had to travel to larger cities to meet like minded people.
