I've seen various mechanisms to bend that string up, but this looks different.
There's a couple views where we can see a lever on top at the upper bout. But, the rod goes down behind the guitar.
We also see what looks like a blue foam ball right by his right rib. He must be able to just lean against it to bend that B string, getting that pedal steel effect.
Also, he's either got heavy compression on it, or he's really loud.
I admire his ability to use his 3rd, 4th, & 5th fingers for fingerpicking even though he's using a flatpick.

(18,676 posts)I do know that if he plays locally I'll pay whatever necessary to sit with every guitar player in town for a show. Country has many greats, like Keith Urban and Marty Stuart, but Junior is versatile. I've heard everything from Jimi to Eric on that guitar hybrid, and he's a sleight of hand musician of the first degree.
I'm not a big country fan, but one of my favorites is the steel on "My Wife Thinks You're Dead". Here's an instrumental where he schools Dick Dale. You can probably see better what tech he's using for that unique sound:

He details all the electronics including his right arm volume control and B string tremolo.
Over my head, but you might enjoy it.
