I have no idea what your beliefs are. But I believe your wife is still very much alive on the other side. And listening, and appreciating your message.

6. I'm not religious, either. But I've heard and read too much about

NDEs (near death experiences) and ADCs (unmediated after-death communications), including from people I know, to be as skeptical as I was when young. Lots of musicians believe in this sort of thing, too, even if they're not religious. I'm not trying to make any converts, since I believe people will find out for themselves. But I mentioned this because of your thread title addressing your wife:

Not out loud but I talk to her and other family members that are gone from time to time. It's a bit comforting is why I do it. As for the other things you mention (NDE's ADCs) I've not experienced those but have at times witnessed somethings that defies explanation.

One in particular was a trip my wife and I took with our grandkids and families to Hershey Park. While there, myself being a history buff, we went to Gettysburg with everyone coming along. My oldest son had his video camera with him and it was a really nice day. Anyways, the first stop we made on the tour was of the battlefield where the shots rang out to begin the battle. There is a large obelisk there with a flame atop it to commemorate the event. Large area for parking, buses, cars etc and it was a slow day, not many there.

I was a smoker then and had one lit as I was about to take a picture of my wife and grandkids in front of the obelisk as Mike stood by me slowly rotating with his camera to get a panasonic view of it all. I said to him, I should put this out, it's hallowed ground. He nods and said, got that right and I take the pictures.

So, we finish the tour had a wonderful time and soon enough we all returned from vacation. About a week or so later, the oldest son calls all excited about something, I asked Mike, are you ok? He says yes dad but I need to show you and mom something. I said, well what? He said, I have to show you, can I come over and I said sure.

He gets to our house and he and his kids are all excited. I said, ok what do you want to show us? He says watch and listen. It's the tape he was taking at Gettysburg that he pops into the VHS and we're all aww this is great Mike and he says just listen. You can see myself, my wife and grandkids by the obelisk and can see Mike is rotating himself as he is filming this. You can clearly hear me say, I should put this out, it's hallowed ground and a voice came back, it sure is! It was not Mike and we have no clue because no one else was around us. You can clearly see it watching the tape.

The back of my hair still stands on edge when I think of it.

I found a photo and description of the memorial I think you mean, probably the 6th one on this page - https://www.eveningsun.com/story/news/2019/06/24/civil-war-18-monuments-and-markers-visit-gettysburg-history/1529377001/ - and it's a huge monument that someone could have stood behind...but if that had just been someone standing on the other side of the monument and speaking loudly enough to be taped, you'd've heard them at the time and realized they were there.

Have never had anything like that happen to me. The NDEs and ADCs I've experienced (well, ADCs, no NDE) are almost always reassuring and comforting, though people may be startled by them at first. That does not mention music and songs, but I've heard lots of stories from people who heard just the right song at a very significant time. Skeptics will dismiss this sort of thing as imagination or coincidence, and they're entitled to be skeptical, but people who've had these experiences usually find them convincing, though they often won't talk openly about them.
