A vintage photo of NYC

I was going through some old photos and found this one I took in NYC, I’m guessing probably in the mid 70s or early 80s. Anyone here have any idea where this is? Is that the Empire State Building up ahead on the right side of the street? I wish I’d have noted the place and the date.

Sorry, I'm still laughing. When you said "vintage photo" I was thinking a lot older than the 70s. Biophilic Jan 2023 #1

The building with the copper top on the upper right is your best chance to narrow down the location. My bet is a cross street. Also Broadway by 233 has City Hall park on one side.

And That maybe it, as that copper top I mentioned above matches the Waldorf Astoria.

201 E 49th St, New York City, NY 10017

Only part that seems off is 3rd avenue is supposed to be right there past the Grill on the right. It is kind of open there with it being the top of a hill.

My son said the exact same thing. “Use Google Streetview!” After I posted, of course.

I live in NE Ohio, but have visited NYC for various reasons at least 10 times. None very recent, though.
