Cruz's spokeswoman alleges left-leaning plot concerning Facebook poll

An old maxim about the law - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz's chosen profession - holds that courtroom litigators don't ask questions if they don't already have the answers.

But in the chaotic world of social media, as the Texas Republican found out, all bets are off.

An impassioned Facebook clash involving tens of thousands of posters erupted this week in response to Cruz's informal online survey marking the fourth anniversary of President Barack Obama's health care law.

"Quick poll," the survey began, "Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then? Comment with YES or NO!"

I responded to the poll, but there wasn't any organized plot behind it. I guess that Republicans can't understand that people want and need health insurance coverage.

Cheering squad. God forbid Cruz would ever be connected to a do anything gig to get attention.

The complaint about people not voting the way he wanted them to vote is amusing

But Cruz's office offered no evidence of an orchestrated effort, and a random check of pro-Obamacare responders in three different states found no evidence of anything but a viral, word-of-mouth upsurge on Twitter and Facebook.
