Perry rejects calls for indicted Attorney General Ken Paxton to resign

ES MOINES, Iowa — Former Gov. Rick Perry rejects the idea that Ken Paxton should step down as Texas attorney general, despite a felony indictment.

“No,” he said, asked about Paxton as he toured the Iowa State Fair.

Perry said he sees no problem with having the state’s top law enforcement official clouded by criminal charges.

“Not at all,” he said. “No. It’s that’s simple. I was hoping that guys in the media would respect the Constitution, as well – that you’re innocent until proven guilty. I think that’s the case.”

He couldn't demand his resignation even IF he wanted to. Besides, Perry is also under indictment isn't he?
