Oct. 11We're only 10 days in, but so far October is proving to be the driest since the 1940s, according to the National Weather Service. No measurable precipitation has fallen in the Puget Sound region as of Monday.
Along with that deficit of rain, daily high-temperature records have been falling across the region, according to Kayla Mazurkiewicz, a National Weather Service forecaster. On Friday, Seattle hit 77 degrees.
Olympia hit 81 Oct. 2, and has reached into the upper 70s a few days since. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-16, are expected to reach 77 and 76 degrees.
"The six-day outlook, 10-day outlook seems to have more above average temperatures, even the eight to 14-day outlook," Mazurkiewicz said.

(4,967 posts)It's been about 100 days now since any appreciable rainfall. I've reduced my garden to a very small patch, but I'm sick of watering.
