tolls for the Whitestone Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, Tri-Borough Bridge, George Washington Bridge, NJ Turnpike, Garden State Turnpike, Holland Tunnel, all the other tunnels and expressways...for the whole time I lived there...some 30 years...and NYers and Jersey-ites are still paying them.

And they go up in price every few years.

States never give up those revenue sources, I don't care what was promised.

I got to be an expert in finding my way to the free bridges...Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Manhattan...free but always crowded.

It used to be that the tolls came off when the construction was paid off. Now we have bridges with permatolls priced for the wealthy. Same with the car pool lanes- full of one occupant Porsches.
