How about Former TX US Representive Filemon Vela run for the US Senate in 2024?

Vela left the US House of Representatives this year in order to help a fellow TX Democratic US House Member Vicente Gonzalez remain in the US House. Gonzalez was going to lose in the General Election if he ran in the TX-15 and in the Primary Election if he ran in TX-34. Now that Vela is no longer holding any elected office, running for the US Senate in TX will not be a problem.
Sitting TX Democratic US House members such as Colin Allred and Joaquin Castro are better off waiting until John Cornyn decides not to seek re-election.

He left Congress for a lucrative job offer so I doubt that he wants to return to public service. He is also unknown outside of the Rio Grande Valley so he face major obstacles with a statewide campaign. There may also be some resentment among some Democrats with how he left Congress and that it ultimately resulted in the adjacent congressional district (represented by Gonzalez) flipping to Republicans.

I don't see Vela leaving his current job to run for Senate because of the financial situation and the fact that his opponents will label him as a "quitter" for leaving his seat midway through a congressional session.
