CNN Admits to Erroneous Report on Venezuela

CNN Admits to Erroneous Report on Venezuela
Published 7 August 2015

Venezuela's ministry of communication issues a statement accusing CNN of lying intentionally in order to help destabilize the country.

CNN Spanish said Thursday in a statement that it recognized its error in reporting about a “looting attempt in Maracay (Venezuela).”

“CNN does not have information about any looting of establishments in Venezuela. It is a mistake that we have to recognize. The error was in the text that appeared on screen while … Osmary Hernandez reported on (food) scarcity in Maracay and Valencia,” the statement read, referring to footage broadcast the same Thursday.

President Nicolas Maduro accused the channel of a destabilizing campaign against Venezuela, “What CNN is doing … from the United States … well we revealed their plan and they know that they are being shown up.”

Venezuela’s Ministry of Communication and Information also released a strongly worded statement today, accusing CNN of misleading intentionally and that the CNN report “has to do with orchestrated, criminal, terrorist campaign that uses the audiovisual medium in order to trick and incite to violence...”

2. Deep! Who benefits from these violent flare-ups?

Any connection to the opposition which has been using violence as a tool against the Chavez administration from the first day, in the form of "guarimbas," violent demonstrations?

It's not as if they have been able to keep it a secret, after all. That happens only in the US corporate "news" media.

3. If Maduro was a right-winger, you'd be fucking praising the guarimbistas as heroes

Don't pretend that Maduro's regime isn't repressive. There's more than enough evidence to show that the Chavista government today has more dirt on it than any other political entity in the hemisphere.

4. I would "fucking" praise people who stretch wire across streets and decapitate motorcyclists?

I seriously doubt that.

Rest your feverish mind. You're struggling too hard to insult me. I believe you're out of your depth.

"Decapitate?" Really? Do you honestly believe all the bullshit spat out from TeleSur and Absence of Logic, VenezuelaAnalysis, Eva Golinger, etc.? They are all either paid shills from the Chavista government or hives of ideologically blinded useful idiots who still think communism is a viable system of governance. How about you actually go to Venezuela and see for yourself the situation? Maybe take up learning Spanish too while you're at it? Hopefully that way you'll understand all the blatant lies that Maduro and the rest of the Chavista den of rats governing Venezuela has said.

7. The BBC News service also mentions the decapitations, incidently:

What lies behind the protests in Venezuela?
27 March 2014

. . .Students were the first to protest, but they were soon joined by hardliners from within the umbrella opposition group Table for Democratic Unity (MUD). Leopoldo Lopez, a former mayor and political maverick, and Maria Corina Machado, an MP, are the main political figures in the movement.

. . .

Both protesters and members of the security forces have died in the violence which has marred some of the protests.

The opposition has accused pro-government motorcycle gangs, as well as the security forces, of shooting live rounds into opposition crowds.

The government says "fascists" are behind the violence, instigating riots and encouraging people to erect barricades. A number of motorcyclists have been decapitated by barbed wire strung across residential streets to hinder the security forces.
