is there a clause in the agreement that it has to be developed in a certain time frame? I can see big oil buying it, sitting on it, and keeping anyone else from developing it, all to their profit !!

They won't save the world.

I oppose them.

We shouldn't be disturbing previously undisturbed natural environments, especially not for ineffective energy schemes like this.

to install floating wind turbines

In addition to being as destructive as a buoy they are about 20 miles offshore. I wonder if they will even be visible to people that live in the area? Surely less destructive than mining for uranium...

BTW, is there any evidence that windmills destroy ocean environments?

Was on a fishing trip with a bunch of people off the Louisiana coast a long time ago - boat went straight to an old oil derrick, there were plenty of fish there... I would think they kind of qualify as an artificial reef.
