I SO would like to use this!Lots of detail in the article about how it is designed and why we all should be using it.....
Before diving into the very inventive technical aspects of Nebia and its decidedly non-Silicon Valley origins, you need to know what it feels like.
One second youre totally dry, and the next youre completely soaked. There isnt any getting into the streamyou turn it on, and its like youre standing inside a thick, soaking patch of mist. The pressure is light, almost skin-prickling, so you dont so much feel it as just get enveloped by it. But the real test: Can it wash out shampoo? Im happy to say yes it can; I didnt have to return to the office with a head full of dried soap.
Its very immersive, Winter says. You walk in and immediately youre wetyou dont have to step into the stream and move your body around this wide surface area, but youre still immediately wet. Even more poetic yet: People says its like stepping into a warm cloud.
Snip:
The company claims that its main setting uses 70 percent less water than a normal shower, the amped up harder pressure setting saves a claimed 60-65 percent.
The water coming out of the shower head is atomizedeach drop is split up into much tinier droplets, allowing them to form a mist that fills up more of the air around you and coats your skin more thoroughly.

Price? Probably if it came down to about the $100 mark, I would be willing to get one.
Thank you for this information...California needs stuff like this badly.

(202 posts)Gallons per minute is the basic unit for water use. This is the second article I have read about this fancy shower head and I have yet to see the gpm. Wasteful shower heads can use up to 5 gpm, low flow may be 2 gpm. This new mist shower may well be a thing of engineering beauty, but no one I know has hundreds of dollars to spend on a shower head.
For only $16, I purchased a 1.5 gpm shower head with a pause button. The pause button is mechanical, so no extra electricity is needed. The water dribbles out while it is paused, but stays at the exact temperature it was at, so there is no water wasted to re-correct the temp when you push the button to turn the flow back on. My guess is that I am using 75% less water than previously for showers. If you are interested:

(2,388 posts)they do tend to pay for themselves over time....whether we are talking solar panels,
insulated wall materials, etc. I think it's worth it, but some still might not be able to
pay that much up front even if they would get their money back later. I'd like to see
more government incentives to make it a viable choice for everyone.

Soak in container of white vinegar overnight.

(2,388 posts)OR collect rainwater specifically for bathing/washing duty.
Obviously a larger undertaking just for a shower but appealing for sustainable
living in the bigger picture.
