This is what I kept asking. Egypt gives lip service "support" AND THEN CLOSES THE ONLY SAFE EXIT. Read the commentary.

Then go back to blaming Israel.

1. I read that Egypt is trying to negotiate a settlement of some sort.

Maybe Egypt is frustrated by Palestinian unwillingness to be realistic about their situation. It would not surprise me.

Egypt's strategic interests are in having peace at its borders. Palestinians have to understand that.

If the borders of Canada or Mexico were endangered by some small country wedged between them and a formidable military power, Canada or Mexico would urge a peaceful solution to the volatile situation and would probably not want to get involved in the violence. It's just common sense -- a quality not always present in situations like the Middle East.

2. Uh huh. Could save lives immediately but prefer to talk them to death.

Personally, I think Israel is way more frustrated than Egypt.
