Looking for suggestions please

I have suffered with chronic anxiety/depression since a terrible accident I suffered years ago. I have been fortunate in seeing a good doctor that understands me and he is now considering retirement. I do fairly well with the meds I am on, 10 mg Lexapro twice daily and 200 mg trazodone at night to help sleep.

The suggestions I am looking for are in the best way forward in finding a new doctor if it comes to that and any meds that may be better than what i am taking. Both are fairly limited in helping anxiety.

Thank you!

My BFF was in a similar situation and was hoping to get a particular doctor but didn't know how to ask and her doctor had already requested that the one she wanted would take over her case.

In retirement many doctors try to get someone they trust to take over their "caseload" and sometimes distribute it to several other doctors based on who they think will best serve the client.

They are experts in psychotropics.

They can work with you to reduce your anxiety as well as the depression.

It can be tricky to find these kinds of specialists. Look on the internet and see who is in practice in your town.
And then call around to see who is taking new patients.

You may have to have a session with a couple of them to see which ones are a good fit with you.

And since your anxiety is not being adequately addressed, you should get some expert help.

Anxiety is easily treated and there is no reason for you to be in distress.

Good luck to you and I hope you can feel better.

We all have some PTSD! Cannabis helps.

Fortunate I guess that it isn't worse.

God luck to you finding the help you need!
