(17,609 posts)I am wondering the same thing at the moment, I am thinking something with cabbage cooked or raw.
I am also thinking of something with okra or zucchini. What you think?
Just added broccoli and spinach soup to my meal whatever that may be.

(16,334 posts)As much as possible. Then, we fall off the chuck wagon a little on the weekends. Not too much, but enough to feel naughty.

(1,353 posts)Some plants have memories, and can communicate between each other. One genera of parisitic plants can even "smell" the plants they want to paricitise and move in that direction. As scientists discover more and more about what plants can do and know....you may want to look at living on the dirt mentioned by another poster, or perhaps air.
P.S. Growing plants is not all that great for the environment, either.....take a look at the Ural Sea and Mono Lake.

(12,254 posts)I do miss cooking outdoors, especially the scent when the fat hits the fire. If you're going to be bad, there are lots worse ways than grilling a burger. Enjoy!

(9,791 posts)They hit the spot. Tomorrow we're doing a camp fire and cooking hot dogs on forks.
Phentex

(12,254 posts)Did you know it is a vegan fish?

(146,218 posts)I don't like fish (except raw) and I really don't like to cook it.
But I am going to make some salmon cakes just to see if I can.

(146,218 posts)I'm really not sure about this.

(12,254 posts)I make them a little different every time. It depends on what I have on hand--now that I think of it, I have an extra red pepper! You just planned my menu for tomorrow.

(146,218 posts)I made some dill aioli and mixed that, the salmon and bread crumbs. Then fried and served with more aioli.
Husband loved them, I loved them.
I cooked fish!
yellerpup
(12,254 posts)and I'm sticking to it! Congratulations on cooking fish! Sushi/sashimi is my favorite, too.

(35,804 posts)I think I'm going to graze today--appetizers at appropriate intervals.
I started off with homemade tortilla chips and I also made pineapple salsa to go with.
My next round of appetizers might be Chinese dumplings.

(146,218 posts)I cook all week, then start pulling out the bits of leftovers on one lazy day. A little here, a little there and I am very happy.

(12,254 posts)Homemade tortilla chips are irresistible. What else goes in the pineapple salsa?
NJCher
(35,804 posts)Red and orange pepper, scallions, coriander, 1/2 c. orange juice, and some cumin.
The homemade tortilla chips were cut from a flour tortilla, brushed with garlic oil, then sprinkled with pepper, AlsoSalt, cumin, and cayenne.
The other appetizers for the day were:
Chinese egg roll
and finally at 2 a.m. in the morning, a zucchini-crust pizza with toppings of mozzarella, tomatoes, peppers and fresh basil.
Great food day!

(12,254 posts)Thanks for the pineapple salsa recipe. I'll make use of it this summer. I also make tortilla chips at home, but I cut the tortillas into fourths or sixths and fry them instead of making round chips. Nothing beats the flavor of fresh chips! Happy Sunday!

(12,254 posts)Enormous (for shrimp) shrimp, rolled in seasoned flour and fried in OO and a little butter, steamed cauliflower, and a Portugese roll. Not much color to it, but we'll make up for that tomorrow. Have a great Saturday night. Here's a happy little tune to get you going!

(21,024 posts)but it was awful. Whatever it was, Renate made me promise not to make it again.

(32,099 posts)Thin cut, marinated in McCormick's Carolina Country Style marinade. The marinade mix is very similar to the mustard-based barbecue sauce found in my region. was pretty good for a pre-packaged mix. It I grilled some zucchini with it. Was wishing I had some marshmallows, as I still had a fair amount of hot charcoals going after everything was cooked.
